GMA Presents SPSA
2006 Linkapil Award

Philippine President Gloria M. Arroyo, on December 7, 2006, presented a Linkapil Award to the Society of Philippine Surgeons in America for its humanitarian medical services to the underserved Filipinos through its regular surgical missions. The SPSA is one of the recipients of the various awards scheduled for that day.

Linkapil, which stands for Linkod sa kapwa Pilipino, is an award that is given every two years to an individual or an organization for significant contributions to the Filipino people. The ceremonies are held in Malacanang Palace.

Receiving the award on behalf of the SPSA were: SPSA president Oscar M. Laserna, M.D., FACOG, FACS; SPSA Board Governor, Chair of Ways and Means and Presidential Assistant Rosario Guanzon-Laserna, M.D., FACOG, and SPSA Past president, Editor Emeritus, and SPSA Website Director, Philip S. Chua, M.D., FACS, FPCS.

Accompanying guests to the ceremonies were Tom Chua, M.D., SPSA Executive Coordinator, and Rosalinda Antiporda, Ph D, local host to SPSA.
